TERM AND CONDITIONS
1.Refund Policy & Cancellation Fees
1.1 Once payment has been made for any class or event, refunds will only be granted under the following conditions:
a. If the Lehenda School cancels a class, event, or any part thereof, a full or partial refund will be issued, depending on the circumstances.
b. In cases of exceptional circumstances (as determined by School Management), a written request for a refund may be submitted within one week after the event concludes. This request must include a medical certificate or other supporting documentation. A full or partial refund may be granted upon approval.
c. Merchandise: If an item is found to be defective or damaged during shipping, the School will refund the purchase price once sufficient proof of the defect or damage is provided.
1.2 A 15% Cancellation Fee will be deducted from any approved refund to cover administrative and processing costs.
1.3 Non-Refundable Situations:
a. No refunds will be issued if there has been a breach of the School’s Terms and Conditions.
b. Refunds will not be provided for change of mind.
2. Costume and Dress Code
2.1 All dancers are required to wear their official Lehenda Uniform for all regular Lehenda classes.
For Winter School and other Lehenda-run workshops, the following dress code applies:
• Girls: Leotard, ballet tights, skirt, and either character shoes or ballet flats.
• Boys: T-shirt, full-length or ¾ tights, socks, and jazz shoes or ballet flats.
2.2 When Lehenda costumes are taken home by students prior to a performance, they must be treated with care and respect. Costumes should be kept on a hanger and must not be washed at home. All laundering of performance costumes will be managed by the School.
3. Conditions
3.1 The Lehenda School reserves the right to update or revise any part of these Terms and Conditions at any time. It is the responsibility of the user or parent/guardian to review them periodically, especially prior to enrolling in a class or event. Continued participation in or use of the School’s website, classes, or events following the publication of any updates constitutes acceptance of those changes.
3.2 The Lehenda School may modify class schedules without prior notice, either before or during a session, and reserves the right to cancel a session if necessary.
3.3 The School may combine published age groups or adjust class timetables at its discretion.
3.4 The School reserves the right to refuse any enrolment in accordance with applicable laws and may request a participant to leave a session for reasons including, but not limited to, disruptive behaviour, tardiness, or unpaid fees.
3.5 Any individual found responsible for damaging or defacing the venue or School equipment will be disqualified from participation, and the School will issue an invoice to recover repair or replacement costs.
3.6 The Lehenda School provides supervision of participants during scheduled session hours only.
3.7 The School and all venues it uses are strictly non-smoking environments.
4. Student Health and Emergencies
4.1 By enrolling a student in an event or class at The Lehenda School, the parent or guardian authorises School staff to seek and obtain necessary medical treatment in the event of an emergency. All medical expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
4.2 Parents or guardians must notify the School prior to the session if a student has any health conditions or requires medication. While staff will supervise participants, they are not responsible for administering medication or managing individual health precautions.
4.3 If a student has asthma or anaphylaxis, a relevant action plan must be submitted prior to attending.
4.4 Any other medical concerns should be disclosed in writing at the time of registration.
4.5 To report an absence, please email info@lehenda.com.au or contact the School directly by phone.
5. Risks and Loss
5.1 By registering for a session, participants and their parents/guardians acknowledge the physical nature of activities and accept that participation carries some risk of injury.
5.2 For performance-based events, applicants participate at their own risk, confirming that they are in good health and physically fit to take part. The Lehenda School accepts no liability for injuries sustained during performances or associated classes.
5.3 The Lehenda School is not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings. Participants are encouraged not to bring valuables to class or events. Any lost property not claimed within one month will be disposed of.
6. Recording, Photography, Video, Media & Publicity
6.1 The Lehenda School may capture photographs and videos of participants during sessions for promotional or archival use. All recorded material is the property and copyright of The Lehenda School and is not available for resale.
6.2 If you do not wish for your child to appear in photos or videos, please notify the School via email at info@lehenda.com.au
7. Privacy
7.1 The Lehenda School collects and uses personal information in accordance with relevant privacy legislation and guidelines.
8. Staff
8.1 All Lehenda School staff are qualified dance professionals who have undergone a Working with Children Check as required by law.
9. Child Safe Standards
9.1 The Lehenda School is committed to upholding child safety in accordance with the Eleven Child Safe Standards that reflect the Victorian Child Safe Standards and associated child protection laws. These standards inform the School’s policies, practices, and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all children. The School actively promotes a culture of safety and protection, with child safety policies in place to empower and safeguard children across the School community.
